Most small businesses are running their entire operation off the modem the internet company dropped off. No firewall. No managed switch. No separate network for guests. Just one device doing everything, wide open.
You probably don't know how exposed that makes you. Most people don't until something goes wrong.
That's exactly what we fix.
At Ascend Networks we come in, assess what you actually have, and build it right. A proper firewall. A managed switch. Access points that are actually configured. Guest WiFi that can't touch your corporate network. Your staff, your data, and your systems on a segmented network that keeps everything where it belongs. If you want to go deeper on the security side, see our Network Security page.
No more all-in-one consumer devices running a business. No more every device on the same flat network. No more hoping nothing goes wrong because you have no visibility if it does.
We work with small businesses across every vertical, retail locations, oil and gas operations, professional services, and more. If you have a physical location with employees, devices, and data, you need this handled properly.
We handle it.
If you're in Broward County, Miami-Dade County, or anywhere in South Florida and you're ready to stop hoping your network is secure and start knowing it is, let's talk.
Common questions
What does managed IT actually include?
Managed IT means we handle your entire technology environment on an ongoing basis. That includes firewall and network monitoring, managed switches and access points, workstation and server maintenance, patching, backups, user account management, vendor coordination with your internet provider, and being the first call when anything breaks. One team watching the whole stack instead of five vendors each watching a piece of it.
How is this different from calling someone only when something breaks?
Break-fix means you only hear from your IT person after the problem has already cost you time, money, or customers. Managed IT is the opposite. We are watching your network every day, catching problems before they become outages, and keeping things current so the thing that was going to break next month never breaks at all. The goal is boring, and boring is good.
Do I need this if I only have a few employees?
If you have employees, devices, a business network, and data you can't afford to lose, the answer is almost always yes. Small businesses are the easiest targets for attackers precisely because they assume they're too small to be worth attacking. They aren't. The cost of getting it right up front is dramatically lower than the cost of getting compromised, losing data, or being down for a week.
What happens if my network goes down?
You call us and we respond. Most managed IT issues we fix remotely within minutes because we already have visibility into your environment and don't need to spend an hour asking you what your setup looks like. If something needs hands on it, we come on site. Our phones aren't answered by a call center in another country.
How do you bill for managed IT?
Flat monthly fee based on the size of your environment. You know exactly what you're paying each month, and there are no surprise hourly invoices when something goes wrong. Our incentive is to keep your systems running smoothly because we already agreed on the price.
